Peach Pie

I have been making this pie for a lot of years.  I made this quiet a bit in college.  You can make it with any fruit but I think that peaches are the best.
You won't find an easier pie to make.  Milk, butter, sugar, flour and peaches are all you need.
Preheat your oven to 350 while you are putting your pie together.  First thing you do is spray your dish with non stick spray.  Dump your peaches in the bottom.
Sprinkle a little sugar on top.  This helps to make the goopy stuff.  The goopy stuff is what is good.
Melt one stick of butter in the microwave.  Use a microwave safe bowl to do this. Add 1 cup of milk to the butter and whisk.
Then add 1 cup of sugar to the milk/butter mixture, and whisk until well blended.
Then add 1 c self rising flour to the mixture.  Whisk until all the lumps are gone.  I use self rising flour because I don't know how much of baking powder or soda I would have to use so it makes it easier for me.  I know there is a conversion chart that tells you how much to add to plain flour for 1 c of self rising.  I will find that chart and add it here one day soon.
Everything is mixed really well.  Told you it was easy.
Pour it on top of the fruit.  DO NOT STIR!!!  The crust will rise to the top during baking.  Trust me.
Put it in your preheated 350 oven.
This is after 30 minutes of baking.  See the crust rose to the top.
After one hour of baking.  Getting nice and brown but needs to be a little more brown.
I cooked this pie for one hour and 20 minutes.  I check it every 30 minutes for an hour and then every 10 minutes.  You want it to be a little jiggly in the middle but not too much.
I know you want to dive into this bowl right now.

Peach Pie Recipe

1 Stick of butter melted
1 cup milk
1 c sugar + a little to sprinkle on top of the fruit
1 cup self rising flour
2 small cans of fruit
Mix all the ingredients together and pour on top of the fruit in the bottom of the pan.  Put in a 350 degree preheated oven.  Check every 30 minutes for an hour, then every 10 minutes until it is golden brown on top.

  1. This is one of our favorite things to make too! Another variation that we have tried is to use a box of yellow cake mix to substitute for the dry ingredients. :)
