Lemon Toilet Bombs

These little toilet bombs are easy to make and make your toilet smell good too!  Sometimes you just need a little extra help to make it smell clean and fresh.  Also these are great to drop into your bowl if you are going to be out of town for a few days.  They will keep it smelling good.
You know I like Mickey and it is a good silicone mold.  I need to get a couple of different molds.
This recipe originally was for peppermint scented bomb. I love peppermint smelling things.  I think it has a nice fresh smell to it.  But I used the Lemi Shine for my citric acid so I used the lemon smell instead. You can use any smell you like.
Start with 1 cup baking soda.  You can buy larger boxes of baking soda for projects just like this.
1/2 cup of citric acid or Lemi Shine.  Citric acid is usually found in the canning supplies at places like Walmart.  Lemi Shine is found in the dishwasher supplies.
My lemon essential oil.  Use about 25 drops.  The recipe also said you could add about 10 drops of tea tree oil.  I didn't have that and I may need to get some.
Mix that the dry ingredients.
Add the drops of lemon oil
Mix that around a little
You will see it start to clump together some.
Add some vinegar to a spray bottle and lightly spray the mixture.  You do not want to get it too wet or it will start fizzing ahead of time. You want it to just stick together.
Spritz and stir and then spritz some more.
It is almost ready to go.  Spritz some more.
Now it is sticking a little better. Spritz a little bit more.
It looks ready.
Now ready to put in the mold.
Add to the mold.
Then find something to push it down and pack it a little.
Get all the corners.
Now just let it sit over night or two.
I covered it.
They expanded a little bit.
I think they might be ready to come out.
You can work around the mold to see if they are coming loose.
Then pop them out.  Store in a container.
Drop one into the toilet.
Watch it fizz.
It's working.
Store them in the bathroom to use as needed.

Caramel Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies

This is the last of the freezer cookies.  This one has lots of goodies inside of it.  They are wonderful warm, with that I will add that when they cool the caramel gets a little hard.  But if you know that ahead of time you can prepare for it.  Caramel is a hot item in baking these days so give them a try.

This picture is a little misleading.  It doesn't look like there's lots of of stuff inside but there is.
This is a bag of the caramel bites.  You can use them in place of the wrapped caramels.  They are much easier too.  No unwrapping all those little caramels.
Now for the cookies.  Start with 1 1/2 cups of softened butter. ( I just realized I didn't use enough butter.  Don't make my mistake)
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 Tablespoon vanilla.  Mix all this well until fluffy.
Then add 2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 cup milk
3 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 bag or 2 cups milk chocolate chips
1 1/4 cup caramel bits.  You can use the other caramels if that is what you have but you will need to chop them up.
Mix well.  I forgot to take a picture of the cup of chopped pecans that I added too.
I scooped out the cookies on parchment lined cookie sheets and froze them for a while.
I then labeled freezer bags and popped them back in the freezer.
To bake these cookies preheat oven to 375.  Bake 12-14 minutes or if frozen about 16 minutes.  Frozen cookies just take an extra minute or two to bake.

Chocolate Ooey Gooey Butter Cake

The Paula Deen strawberry ooey gooey butter cake was a hit and there are many other flavors or the butter cake.  This is the chocolate butter cake and it is very good as well.  I think you will like it.

Keep a chocolate cake mix in your pantry so you will be ready to make it at any time.
Start with a pkg of chocolate cake mix.  There are different types of chocolate cake mix so pick your favorite.
Melt 1 stick of butter for now.
Add one egg
Mix that into the cake mix.  It will be thick.
Press into the bottom of a sprayed 9x13 baking dish.
Then add 8 oz of softened cream cheese
2 eggs
1/4 cup cocoa powder
Mix that well.  It looks like frosting.
Now add 16 oz or 3 3/4 cup powdered sugar
Mix that well.
Add 1 teaspoon vanilla
Melt your other stick of butter.  Add to the mixture.
Mix well.
Pour over the cake mix crust.  Place in a preheated 350 oven.  Bake for 40-50 minutes.  Check it after 30.  You don't want to overtake.
Let cool well before cutting.
Cut and enjoy.  Very easy to make and great for taking to a pot luck dinner.
