Black Forest Dump Cake

We were having company for dinner the other night and I needed a quick and easy dessert, so why not a dump cake.  I try to keep the ingredients in the pantry for at least one dump cake so when I do need to make something quick I don't have to run to the store.  Time to restock.  I looked back at my recent recipes and it seems I have made lots of things with cherries lately.  Sorry about that but I really like cherries and the fresh ones have been really good this year.
Those red cherries look so pretty in that red bowl.  Needed just a tiny bit of ice cream on top.
Dump cakes have become very popular lately because they are very easy to make because all you have to do is dump.  This is a great recipe to have the kids help you with. There are lots of different types so if you are not a fan of cherries you can always find one you do.
Start with 2 cans of cherry pie filling.  Dump them in the bottom of a sprayed 9x13 pan.
Sprinkle the chocolate cake mix on top.
Spread it out a little.
Take the 1stick of butter and melt it.
1 cup of chocolate chips and I used semi sweet to cut some of the sweet.
Sprinkle them around on top.
Pour the melted butter on top.
Now it is ready for the oven.  Place in a preheated 350 oven for 35-40 minutes.
All hot and bubbly from the oven.  It couldn't be easier.
Now to enjoy.
