Baked Vidalia Onions

We were grilling steaks and roasted onions with a steak can't be beat.  There's nothing better than a Vidalia onion.  They are sweet and have a great taste.
Start with a good size Vidalia onion.
Cut the ends and peel the onion.
Cut out a section on top.
I put some minced garlic in the hole.  You can cut up a garlic clove and stuff it inside if you like.
Put a couple of pats of butter on top.
Wrap on piece of bacon on the bottom and secure it with a toothpick.
Wrap a second piece around and secure with a toothpick.
Put the onion in the middle of a piece of heavy duty foil.  Bring the sides up some.  Then drizzle the top with some balsamic vinegar.
Salt and pepper the top.  You can add some other seasoning if you like.  Pull up the sides and seal.  Place in a preheated 350 oven.  Bake for around an hour or until tender.
Fresh from the oven.  Cut up and serve with your steak.
