Easy Peasy Apple Dumplins

I still have some apples from our trip to the mountains, and I continually looked for new easy recipes.  This one couldn't be any easier, and boy was it good.
I think I am going to start keeping a roll of crescent rolls in the fridge.
Peel and core an apple.  Then cut into 8 pieces.
Separate the crescent rolls into the 8 pieces.  Take one and sprinkle a little cinnamon on it.
Then place the apple piece on the long end.
And roll up.
Put in a sprayed 8x8 baking dish. Do the same with the 7 other pieces.
Melt the stick of butter.
Measure 3/4 cup sugar
Add the sugar to the butter.
Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla.
Pour the butter mixture on top of the rolls.
Look at all the goodness in the bottom of the dish.
Measure out 1/2 -3/4 cup lemon lime soda (Sprite, 7-Up, Mountain Dew)
Pour around the edges of the rolls.
It will fizz a little around the edges. Sprinkle a little more cinnamon on top.  Place in a preheated 350 oven and bake for 35-40 minutes.
Fresh from the oven.  They smell so good.
A little ice cream on top makes them a little better even.
