Sausage Veggie Boil

There really isn't a recipe for this dish.  I don't remember a time when I wasn't making it.  It is one of those quick dished you can throw in a pot when you come in from work and it will be ready in 30 minutes.  There's not a lot of prep work involved and it can even be easier than what I have here.
Start with some smoked sausage, potatoes, carrots, onions and cabbage.  If you don't like cabbage you can leave it off.
Slice the smoked sausage into small pieces.  Dump into a pot.
Rough chop an onion.  You want the pieces to be large
Peel and chop a couple of carrots.  If you use baby carrots just throw them in.
Cut a couple of potatoes into small pieces.  You don't have to peel them either.  You could use the little what we call new potatoes and they don't have to be cut.
Throw everything in a pot and cover with water.  Season with salt and pepper.
Cut some wedges off the cabbage and lay on top.  Cover the pot and boil until the veggies are tender.
A one pot quick dish that your family should love.  One pot to cook in and one pot to clean up.  Can't beat that.
