Easy Caramel Apple Cream Cheese Spread

Another great party or game day food.  I will admit this dish turned out better that I had originally thought.
I thought the pears were actually better than the apples with this dip.  The apples were good too but the pears were a nice touch.
The pear is the dark red one. I also added pecans to the recipe.
You will want to candy the nuts so they can cool.  1 Tablespoon butter in a skillet.
Chop 1/4 cup walnuts and add 1/4 cup slivered almonds
I added a handful of chopped pecans too.
When the butter is melted add 2 Tablespoons sugar.
Stir and let the sugar melt.
Add the nuts.
Stir the nuts until they are all coated and toasted.
Pour out on wax paper to cool.
Now to assemble.  Put an 8 oz block of softened cream cheese in the center of a plate.
Drizzle some caramel sauce on top.
Add some nuts.
Slice the apples and pears.  I tossed them with some lemon juice.
Arrange around the cream cheese.
Drizzle with some more caramel sauce and sprinkle some of the nuts on top.
