This is a busy food week with Valentine's day and Mardi Gras. I didn't even have time to celebrate Chinese New Year! Maybe next year I can create some foods for Chinese New Year.
This recipe is the same as the Mardi Gras Kings Cake but I have made it for Valentine's day. Who wouldn't like to wake up to this treat Thursday morning?
All you need is cinnamon rolls and some kind of Valentine sprinkles. I have red ones.
Open the roll and separate the rolls. Then unroll one at a time. This part makes a mess on the countertop.
Fold in half. If big chunks of cinnamon goodness falls off just put it back on in a places that is empty.
Twist and pull at the same time.
You will have to pull and twist to get the roll into a heart shape.
Then place on a cookie sheet. You can either spray the pan or put parchment paper on the pan.
Place in a preheated 350 oven. Bake for about 15 minutes. It won't take as long as the regular rolls because you have taken the apart.
The fresh baked rolls. Some ended up more a round shape but who will care?
While hot spread the icing that comes with the rolls and then sprinkle with the Valentine sprinkles.
I think your Valentine will love these.
