Monster Cookies

I needed a little treat last weekend and this fit the bill.  It had a great blend of flavors and was very easy to put together.  The beauty of this recipe is that it uses a cake mix as the base of the recipe.  There are more and more recipes using cake mixes.  When you find them on sale stock up on them.  Publix runs them buy one get one free pretty often.  Can't go wrong keeping some basic flavors in the pantry.

The first time I make a recipe, especially for cookies, I am never sure if they will spread or not spread.  The last cookies I made spread into each other.  These didn't spread much at all.

M&M's and chocolate chips make these so yummy.
Start with 3/4 cup softened butter.
 1 egg
 1/2 cup brown sugar
 Mix that all together.
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter.  Now I don't think they will not let you make this recipe if you only have crunchy peanut butter.
 Add the yellow cake mix.
 2 Tablespoons water.
2 cups quick cooking oats. Mix well.  The batter will be very thick.  Try and use the mixer as much as possible right now.
1/2 cup M&M's.  I had mini M's, you could regular size if you like.
 1/2 cup semisweet chips.
Now you will need a wooden spoon to try and mix well.  Keep working it until they are mixed in.
You can use a cookie scoop or a spoon to dip the cookies.  Preheat the oven to 350 and bake for 14-15 minutes.  Don't over bake.
Let them sit on the cookie sheet for a few minutes to cool.
