If you are having a party or friends over for an evening this is a great appetizer to share. It is also a great way to eat your broccoli. I bet even George Bush would like this recipe.
Very simple recipe to put together. One of the best things about it is that you can make it ahead of time and put it in the fridge to cook later. A little cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, Italian seasonings and broccoli whats not to like.
Mix together softened cream cheese, sour cream and Italian salad dressing mix.
Use the mixer to make sure it is really mixed well.
Drain the thawed broccoli to make sure that all the moisture is removed.
Add the broccoli and 1 1/2 c of the cheese to the cheese mixture.
Mix well.
Spray your dish with nonstick spray. I use a pie plate but you could use any oven safe pan. This is the point when I cover the dish and put in the fridge to wait until tomorrow to cook. It takes a few extra minutes to bake when you refrigerate first.
Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes, a little longer if it has been in the fridge first. The edges will get nice and bubbly.
After the 20 minutes sprinkle the remaining cheese of top. Bake an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Serve with taco chips, small toasted bread pieces, or crackers. This dip is so go even those broccoli haters will enjoy it.
