Traveling with the Grobmyers Day 3 January 28, 2024

This morning started slowly again. No bacon at the breakfast bar, insert sad face. We drove back down to Chase Palm Park for their Art sale. They have this sale every Sunday in the park. It reminded me a lot of the early days of Art on the Lake in Guntersville. Lots of paintings/ photographs, jewelry, pottery, crochet items and other assortment of handicrafts. I bought a small pottery vase from a lady and it came with a neat story too. It will look nice on the shelf behind my sink. Once again the weather was perfect. By the time we made it back to the car it was 81 degrees! Now everyone we have talked to said that it is the first sun and pretty days in several weeks so we will take it.

As we were walking along the path we were “dreaming” of “when we win the lottery”, of course you have to play to win. We would buy a house in Santa Barbara and live there from January until March. Of course we would have to borrow a dog while we were there so we would not stick out. Everyone has a dog in some shape or size.

We left the Park and drove up to see the Santa Barbara Mission. We didn’t go inside they were having mass. It’s a pretty building on lovely grounds.

We drove back down to Carpinteria, and I found another quilt shop. Roxanne’s was a large store with a lot of pretty items. They had some bright colored quilts in the wall and some nice featherweight machines as well.

We came back to the hotel to freshen up a little bit then headed to the Ventura Harbor. Located at the end of the Harbor is the Channel Islands National Park Visitors Center. Because of our luggage issue yesterday we didn’t do one of the cruises around the island so we did go to the visitor’s center to stamp our passport. We will come back again.

After the Visitor’s Center we walked around he harbor area.

The high, ihg t of the day was getting to meet Martha and Debbie for dinner. We met them at Brophy Brothers, right on the water. A wonderful meal but the company was even better. It was great catching up with them. We also had a great view.

Today’s flora and fauna pictures.

Tomorrow we leave the area and start headed southward.
