Complete BBQ Chicken Dinner in the Crockpot

I made a pork chop recipe very similar to this one a month or so ago.  It is very easy to make and you could change up the veggies if you want to.
It makes for a colorful plate.
You can use whatever BBQ sauce you like.  This Sticky Fingers is the sauce I used on the pork chops and thought I would finish it up.
Place the chicken in the bottom
Cover with the BBQ sauce
Cover with a piece of foil.
On another piece of foil add the potatoes.
Add a little olive oil.
Salt
pepper
Then seal it up and place it in the crock pot on top of the foil.
On another piece of foil add the carrots. You can use the baby carrots. I added some butter and salt and pepper.  The recipe calls for 3 T honey, 1/2 t cinnamon and 1/8 t nutmeg.  I don't like sweet carrots so I did the other.
Place the carrot foil pack on top.  Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours.
When you are ready to eat, carefully pull our the foil packets and open them.
The chicken just falls apart.

Slow Cooker Pork Chop Supper

Another great crockpot recipe.  There is a light at the end of the tunnel, I hope.
The peas sure brighten this dish up.
The peas get added later.
Quarter a couple of red potatoes.  Put those in the bottom of the crockpot.  Did I mention how much I love the liners.
In a bowl add the can of cream of mushroom soup.
2 Tablespoons chicken broth.
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder.
1/2 teaspoon steak sauce.
3 Tablespoons all purpose flour.
Mix it all together.
Put the pork chops on top of the potatoes.
Then add the sauce on top. Cover and cook on low for about 6 to 7 hours.  Now the recipe calls for browning the pork chops first in a skillet.  I didn't do that this time but if you want to it probably be good.
About 15 minutes to an half hour before you are ready to eat get the peas out.
Take the pork chops off the top.
You have the sauce and potatoes
Add the peas on top.
Put the pork chops on top and recover.
When the peas are finished it's time to eat.

Knock Your Socks Off Slow Cooker Chicken and Sausage

Well I don't think I lost my socks but it was a pretty good meal.
The broccoli and rice were a nice addition to this recipe.
There was enough of this left over for lunch the next day too!
Put the chicken in the bottom of the crock pot.
Slice up the smoked sausage and put on top.
In a bowl add the softened cream cheese.
In another bowl add 1 1/2 cup chicken broth.
3 cloves minced garlic.  I didn't add that much just a little bit.
2 Tablespoons grainy mustard.
Beat the cream cheese.
Slowly add the broth mixture to the cream cheese.
Mix until smooth.
Pour over the top of the meat.
Add some chopped onions. Cover and cook on low 5 to 6 hours.  The recipe said when it was finished cooking to put it in a casserole dish and put it in the oven to brown it up a little bit.  Since I don't have an oven I couldn't do that but I bet it would thicken the sauce up a little.
Serve with rice and another vegetable.  The broccoli was good with the sauce.

We Have Walls! Part 7

This past week we got walls.  Things sure do look different now with the walls up.  We can't see through the walls any more.  But one thing is for sure we are crawling closer and closer to the finish line.  My magical finish line is a few days before Thanksgiving, or enough before Thanksgiving so I can have dinner here at my house. Now that we are actually in the month of November I am not sure if we will reach that goal.
Now on to the pictures.
We will start in the den, or at least the new part of the den.  That wall to the right, close your eyes and picture our Daniel Moore prints there.  Won't that be a great place for those. The wall in front is our audiovisual wall.
This is what it looked like before sheetrock.
Joe's new office/man cave.
The closet will be control central.  I don't know where all the cables went to.
The outside wall of the man cave.
A view of the den from the man cave door.
The skylights have been framed in as well.
Now we are moving into the kitchen.  There was not a lot of sheetrock in here just a few patches. We are moving things around in the kitchen.  The refrigerator is where the pantry use to be and the double oven is where the fridge use to be.  Going to take a little getting use to.
This is going to be my new pantry.  It was a closet under the stairs we used for storage.
The arch from inside the kitchen.  There use to be a wall here.  We took the wall out and added the arch .
This is the only thing we did in the dinning room. The doorway has been closed in a little bit.
Because of the added corner of the wall where my bookcase will be.  This is the other side of the arch wall.
The doors, fireplace and windows on the new wall.
Inside the master bedroom.
This use to be the old entrance to our bedroom.
New windows for the bedroom.  Going to have a nice built-in around the windows.
Inside the new master closet.

Well I guess that is all for the new walls.  It is getting exciting.  Tomorrow they are going to sand the sheetrock.  I have been told that there will be lots of dust.  I thought we already had had lots of dust.  I guess the next thing up will be painting and hopefully the cabinets.
