Happy 4th of July. Today was a driving day. We drove up the South Carolina coast into North Carolina. We drove through some familiar sounding towns from some of my summer beach reads. Towns like Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms, Pawley’s Island, and Folly Beach. These were pretty little towns with lots of flags and red, white, and blue decorated golf carts.
Our first stop was Myrtle Beach. I had heard it was a lot like Gatlinburg but on a beach. They weren’t wrong. There’s plenty of putt putt golf, air brush tee shirts and pancake houses. The beach was full and plenty of others headed that way.
I did find a Christmas shop. It was a good one too. Lots of trees and ornaments. I might have found a few ornaments for my trees.
We are representing here!!
I like the advice from a snowman.
So if you are keeping count that is Christmas shops 3 quilt shops1. I know later on in the trip the quilt shops will more than make up the difference.
A few pictures of the beach from a distance. It’s a pretty light green color. We think we would like to come back sometime in the winter when it isn’t so hot or crowded.
Hope you are enjoying your holiday. After our drive today we grabbed some sandwiches and are having a picnic in the room to watch the fireworks on TV.
