This morning we decided to go to the Aloha Flea Market. It is located around the Aloha Bowl Stadium. You Bama fan will remember the years we did the hula with Shula there. We came to this flea market 20 years ago when we were here and I guess like all flea markets these days it use to be better. But we got a chance to see the stadium again. They have been working of renovating it the last couple of years. It still seems a little dated to me.
I have not seen many orchids since I have been here but I did see a few pretty ones at the flea market.
Then we drove out to Kualoa Ranch for a movie location tour. The ranch is family owned for the last 170 years. It is a working ranch with horses, cows, chickens, turkeys, pigs, and sheep.
It is a fully sustainable ranch. They sell some of their produce and meat at their market. They also use the harvest in their restaurant on site.
But most importantly it is the location where several of your favorite TV shows and movies were filmed. See if you recognize some of these places.
The bunker from Lost.
Some great views of the ocean too.
The scenery was incredible.
Kong’s foot prints.
Penguin scene from 50 First Dates.
