Pumpkin Pie

You have to have pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving but it is really good anytime.  Add a little whipped cream on top and you have a winning combination.

This recipe makes one pie.  I made two at this time.
Pumpkin pie is really very easy to make.  You don't have to buy them.
Start with one can of pumpkin puree.  Not the pumpkin pie mix.
Add 3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
This is the pumpkin pie spice blend.  It's better than the premade. 3 Tablespoon cinnamon
2 teaspoon ginger
2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoon all spice
1 1/2 teaspoon cloves
Mix that all together well.
Use 1 teaspoon of the mixture.  Save the rest.
Add 2 eggs
12 oz can evaporated milk
Mix well.  Fill pie shell.  Place in a preheated 425 oven.  Bake for 15 minutes.  Reduce temperature to 350 and bake for 40-50 minutes. 
Let cool for 2 hours.  You can easily make your pies the day before.

Pumpkin Pie Recipe

1 9 inch unbaked deep dish pie crust
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice blend
2 eggs
15 oz can pumpkin puree
12 oz can evaporated milk
Bake in 425 oven for 15 minutes.  Reduce heat to 350 and bake 40-50 minutes.

3 Tablespoon cinnamon
2 teaspoon ginger
2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoon all spice
1 1/2 teaspoon cloves
