We are headed to Lafayette Indiana for a regional ACGHS meeting. We are making stops here in Paris and tomorrow in Paducah.
Paris is also home to the World’s Largest Gish Fry. (It’s next weekend if you want to come up for it). They have catfish statues and catfish on signs almost as many as an Eiffel Tower.
We had dinner tonight at The Olive Pit. It was good Italian food.
No Joe doesn’t have a plate of cheese.
This was really good bread. Nice and crusty on the outside soft on the inside.
This morning we drove up to Paducah, KY. One of the things Paducah is known for is Hancock’s of Paducah. It’s a huge fabric store that does a ton of mail orders. They also have a store front and I was asked to pick up some things for someone.
Not that I really needed an excuse.
Another thing Paducah is known for is the National Quilt Museum. They have three different exhibits at a time and they change every six months. This time they had a Food exhibit that was really cute. A Tula Pink exhibit. It’s not my favorite line of fabric. And finally an exhibit of alphabet quilts titled Now I Know My ABCs.
Lewis and Clark statue with a little girl holding a flag.
Made from feed sacks.
I really liked this wedding cake. It has something new, something borrowed and something blue on it.
I wanted you to see that the leaves are 3D

These were some other quilts on display.
I loved this one. The lady at the museum said this is painted and then there is stitching for detail.
Some doll bed quilts in the miniature quilt section.
The quilt below is painted. You can see the description below it.
Tula Pink the next couple of quilts.
Below is another interesting quilt made from unique materials. The write up is below.
This is Now I Know My ABCs
A couple last quilts.
Some stained glass.
Behind the Museum along the river, there’s murals of Paducah through the years. They are very cool. There’s also a restored train.
The further north we drove the more signs of early spring appeared. The trees are at peak bloom, buttercups and tulips were just blooming, and the grass was bright green. They are a few weeks behind us in spring.
We had our customary stop at Mark's Feed Store in Lousiville on the way home. If you are ever in Louisville stop by you won't be disappointed. We even brought some burgoo home.
