Kris Kringle Christmas Cookies

I could not resist the name of these cookies.  Whether you call him Santa, Kris Kringle or Father Christmas he is going to love these cookies.  The dried cranberries lend a little tartness to the sweet cookies.  I bet ole Kris would like some of these left on Christmas Eve along with a glass of milk.

I just heard from Santa and he said to be sure and leave him a couple of these cookies Christmas Eve.
Very basic cookie recipe.
Start with 2 softened sticks of butter
1 cup sugar. Mix well.

2 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla This was my vanilla paste.  It's a little thicker than normally vanilla.
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 cup all purpose flour.  Mix a little at a time.
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup dried cranberries.
These are scooped and ready for the freezer.
When I put them in the freezer they are in freezer bags and labeled with the name and temperature and length of time.  When ready to bake these preheat oven to 375.  Bake for 9 minutes.
Now enjoy these before they are gone.

Santa's Favorite Cookie

Not only will these be Santa's favorite cookies but I bet they will be yours too. These cookies though could be changed to be the Easter bunny's too.  You can tailor these cookies to whatever colors you would like.  They could become birthday cookies too.
These are such colorful cookies.
I really thought these M&M's were holiday ones but they weren't.  Which is okay.
1 stick softened butter.
3/4 cup brown sugar. Mix until fluffy.
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 pkg Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix-not sugar free Mix well.
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour Add a little at a time.
3/4 cup Christmas M&M's  I used the mini M&M's but you can use full sized ones.
1/4 cup red and green sprinkles  See how easy it is to change the colors.
Look at that pretty batter.
Scoop them out. This is going to the freezer.  For baking preheat your oven to 350.  Bake for 9-11 minutes.
These are such good little cookies.  Keep this recipe close year round.

Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies

Sea Salt caramel is the new "it" flavor for this year.  I found this recipe and then started looking for the Hershey's Sea Salt Caramel Chips.  I couldn't find them for the longest time and I checked all my regular places.  I thought I was going to have to make a special trip to Hersey for them. But then when the Christmas baking supplies came out I found them.  I still would have liked a trip to Hersey.

These cookies bake up really pretty.
There's a lot of goodness in these cookies between the caramel chips and chocolate chips.
This is what the sea salt caramel chips look like.
Start with 2 sticks softened butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar.  Mix well.
2 eggs
2 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 to 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour.  Add a little at a time.
Look at that batter.
Add 1 bag semi sweet chocolate chips
This is what the chips look like.
Add 1 bag sea salt caramel chips
This is how many cookies the recipe makes.  They went in the freezer.  To bake preheat oven to 350.  Bake 13-15 minutes.
Well worth the search for the chips.

Cherry Garcia Cookies

I love the Cherry Garcia ice cream that a popular company makes.  The flavors of cherry and chocolate are so good together.  This was one of the first recipes I pulled when looking for new ones for the holidays.  I think you will like these cookies as well.

You can see the pieces of cherry in the cookies.  Cherries are so good.
You can use any kind of chocolate you like.  I used semi sweet.  If you have the chunk chocolate that would be good also.
Drain the jar of maraschino cherries.  I could only find the ones with the stems.  So remove those.
Because these cherries are sticky I put them in the food processor to chop.
Let the processor do the work.
Start with 3 sticks softened butter.  These are buttery cookies.
Add 1 cup sugar.  Mix well.
Add one egg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon almond extract.  If you don't have any go ahead and use the vanilla.  The almond is really good in it though.
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups all purpose flour.  Remember a little at a time.  You do not want to clean up flour all over your kitchen.
Now add in the cherries.
The bag of semi sweet chocolate chips.  Somehow I missed a step.  Scoop the dough.  Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.  Preheat oven to 350.  Bake 12- 14 minutes.
They got a little brown on bottom but they were still good.
Enjoy.  You will think you are eating ice cream.  Wait they would be good with some ice cream.
