This is a nice little fall dessert to take somewhere. I like these little phyllo shells. Perfect little bite sized desserts.
Don't fill the cups until you are ready to eat because they will get a little soggy if they sit very long. Then top with a dollop of whipped cream.
I wasn't sure how many apples I was going to need. I did not use all of these.Start with 1/2 cup of water you are going to use it in a saucepan.
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
juice of half a lemon. I had to estimate on this.
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon allspice
1/8 teaspoon salt
Peel and dice your apples
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Stir together and let the mixture cook with the lid on for about 8-10 minutes or until the apples have softened.
Cover your pot. I like I can see inside my lid.
Another 1/2 cup water
3Tablespoons cornstarch
Mix well. This is your thickener.
Stir your apples.
Add the cornstarch mixture to the apples.
Stir until they start to thicken.
Remove from the pot and let cool some.
You will need at least one but probably two packages of Phyllo shells and whipped cream
Fill the cups and then add the whipped cream.
