Key Lime Pie Rice Krispie Treats

Several weeks ago I found these Key Lime Pie marshmallows at Walmart and didn't know what to do with them.  The a couple days later I saw this recipe on Pinterest.

Regular stuff you would use for making rice krispie treats.

Start with 6 Tablespoons butter.

6 cups Rice Krispie cereal.  Measure it before hand to make it easier.

Melt the butter in a large pot.  I like the nonstick pots.

Add 2 bags of the Key Lime marshmallows.

The recipe calls for the zest of 2 limes but I just used one and believe me it was enough.

Look at all that zest.

The marshmallows are melting.

Once the marshmallows are all melted..

add the cereal.

Mix well.

Put the cereal into a sprayed 9x13 pan.  That is wax paper on top.  I use wax paper to press them down in the pan.

The treats are all pressed in the pan.

Chop up some white chocolate.

Put in a zip lock bag and melt in the microwave.

The chocolate is all melted.  Clip the corner of the bag.

Drizzle the chocolate on top.

Then sprinkle some graham cracker crumbs on top.

Enjoy.  Just like eating a key lime pie.

6 cup rice Krispi cereal
6 Tablespoons butter
2 bags key lime marshmallows
zest of 1 lime
1/2 cup white chocolate
1 graham cracker crushed

Found these at Walmart too.  Going to try Lemon Meringue pie treats next.
